Which, as my years in the disorder have progressed, I have recognized to be largely true for me. I've always had large amounts of anxiety. The disorder flares up when I am going through particularly anxiety-inducing events. Concurrently, I have suffered from "generalized" anxiety, social anxiety, and OCD behaviors. Both of my parents suffer from similar anxiety disorders without the manifestation of the eating disorder. The state of starvation and counting behaviors that go along with it helps to me to cope and keeps me focused.
