Putting together a conference

So we are trying to put together the ECHO/F.E.A.S.T/Maudsley Carers' conference for 23rd and 24th November.  We have been bumped by our original choice of hotel in the city centre but have landed on our feet with the Bestwood Lodge.

Many many emails about the change of date later and another many many emails to Laura about all the bumps we had to smooth over that I was completely unaware of, we are beginning to finalise some sort of plan.  There is a lot to be done and a lot to be sorted and a lot more people to contact, feathers to be smoothed, marketing to be done, website to be organised, bank account to be opened and a huge amount of delegation (if I can get away with it) to be apportioned appropriately.

We are submitting proposals for Board approval.  Hopefully, once passed, we can then get on to dealing with the more exciting aspects, such as booking and confirming speakers, sorting out a programme and buying new shoes.

The joy has been the excuse of long conversations with EB and Marcella and long emails from HJM, who has been away and come back to 150 emails after 10 days about the conference.  Oh, and the wonderful exchanges from Janet Treasure, who is the total master of "to the point" emails, where work is concerned and positively lyrical about spring time additions on the farm.
