Whilst many of my colleagues in F.E.A.S.T. are whopping it up at the EDIC in London over the next three days, I am trying to settle down to planning our conference in November.
The dates are 16th and 17th November and it will be at the Crowne Plaza in Nottingham. We are holding in conjunction with Professor Treasure and her team and are hoping to get many of the ECHO project participants (both clinicians and carers) to come along for either one or both days.
We are working out room rates and day rates and catering. We haven't got any speakers yet, apart from Janet and the wonderful Gill Todd. This is not going to be an expensive razzamatazz conference, more like a family wedding, we suspect. We are hoping for a calm, kind, supportive atmosphere and a chance to meet and learn from others. We have no committee, no plan and no real clue about what we are doing but we have enthusiasm, dedication and a stoic attitude towards potential disasters.
If anyone has any conference planning experience and would be willing to help out, please let me know. Any other tips/hints/encouragement gratefully received.
